I Give You All of Me

There are parts of our lives that we tend to believe God does not have a part of. I go to God when I need a miracle or when I have to make a tough decision but I don’t need his help in deciding what I should eat for lunch or how much to put in a tithes and offering envelope. I’ve got that covered (10% right?). But we must realize that God is concerned about every area of our lives. There is nothing too big or too small to involve Him in.

We limit God to the “big” stuff; that which we just absolutely cannot control on our own. But God wants us to surrender everything to Him. Everything! We sing “I Surrender All,” and then stress over traffic or our hair not curling right. God says, “Give it to me. Give me your thoughts. Give me your questions. Give me your slightest burdens and I will bring you rest.” We don’t have to be embarrassed to ask God for help in solving day-to-day issues. He delights in helping us.

Have you ever pondered calling a parent for guidance with a problem? You didn’t want to worry them with your small issues. You just knew that if you called them they would say you that you are an adult and it is time to figure things out on your own. But something tells you to call them anyway. And they are more supportive and helpful than you could have imagined. If your earthly parents are this loving and patient with you, how much more do you think your Heavenly Father will be?

Unlike Sway, God has the answers. All of them (Take that Kanye). He is not a mean, unapproachable being that withholds His wisdom from us. If we withhold nothing from Him, He will withhold no good thing from us.

For the LORD God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The LORD will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. Psalm 84:11

Do not be afraid to seek God in everything. There is nothing too grand for His power and nothing too miniscule. As you strengthen your relationship with the Lord through time spent and developing a heart for Him, the Holy Spirit will provide the guidance you need. He is ready and willing to direct you. All you have to do is ask.
