Monday Motivaton: Stepping Outside of Comfort Into Obedience

When you reach a point of stability in your thinking, your finances, career, and family, we can become comfortable. But God may shake us up to elevate us even higher. It is at this point that He requires from us a difficult, “Yes Father, I will follow.”

Upon achieving a level of peace where we are not distracted by the outside world but are controlled by the inner Holy Spirit, we can think that we have it all together. We think that our journey to purpose is over. But life is about constant evolution. God doesn’t take us to a new level to keep us there. We grow more and more, higher and higher in and through Him. We have to be willing to keep moving with God even if it requires deserting a place of comfort to re-enter a rocky path.

Becoming stagnant prohibits God’s work in our life. We have to constantly seek God for new revelations and new clarity on what He has designed us to do. Every event in our life is meant to develop our character. We are being shaped and molded into the plan God had for us in placing us onto this earth. We were not created to just dwell and take up space in this world, we have a specific purpose that is revealed to us more and more daily. But, we have to be willing to take off our blinders and pay attention to what He shows us.

I was listening to a sermon today and the pastor stated that when God gives us a word it is based on how He sees us and created us to be, not the current visible image that we have of ourselves. We become complacent and think that we have accomplished all that there is for us to accomplish, but there is much more waiting for us that we cannot see. Obeying His call to go outside of our current comfort zone will prove to ourselves that we are able to achieve more. We have to have a mindset of destiny–reaching our destination, not of simply maintaining the pleasures of today.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” -Isaiah 6:8

Do not be afraid to heed to God’s call. He will never take you to a place where He will not protect you. He will never lead you outside of your purpose. Stop relying on your own ability and activate God’s power. Hasn’t He brought you through countless times before? What makes you think this time will be any different? Because you can’t see it? Your ability to see cannot compete with God’s foresight. He has plans beyond your thought capacity. Trust Him and say yes.

Since Im about to make that step out of my comfort zone. I would like to say thank you for this encouragement. It’s letting me know that I’m going to be okay… Plus! Where ever He is leading me, I’ve already been fitted for this purpose. Meaning, in my spirit, I have already done it… Thanks! That was a great boost of strength to help me to keep moving forward… God bless

@Shay Thank you so much for sharing your own beautiful testimony. I believe that we are never complete in experiencing all of the beauty that God has ordained for our lives. We have to be willing to see what He is developing in us by seeking His instructions on growth.

You are right on time with this message. Something has been pulling on my heart strings telling me that there is more for me but I don’t know what that is. I’m so happy, comfortable and blessed. My life is together on all fronts and I personally can’t imagine more. Like you said ” We have to have a mindset of destiny–reaching our destination, not of simply maintaining the pleasures of today.” When I think about It, I’m still at the beginning of my journey, I have been obedient and for that I am where I am but if I continue to be still and listen how much more is possible. Thank you for this word today, may God continue to bless you because you continuously bless me.
