Mid-Week Inspiration: God Said No, Now Comes Your Faith

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

How great is your faith? When we don’t receive the outcome we hope for, it is easy to forget the power of God. We think that because something did not turn out the way we wanted when we wanted, whatever does happen will not amount to what we were hoping for. However, rather than resorting to disappointment, we should believe that God’s plan is so much better than our own.

We may ask, “Well what’s the point in praying if God’s just going to do His own will anyway?” Prayer is a symbol of our faith. We present our requests to God and believe that God’s best will be the result of our prayers. We have hope for a certain response from Him but we trust that He will never harm us but will protect us and provide for us all and above our needs.

It is extremely hard when we step out on faith and something seemingly bad happens. We can start to question God and the validity of His promises to us. Whatever you do, know that God has not forgotten you. You were not created for failure.

When we do not receive what we wish, it could be that what we prayed for was not best for us. We may think that $100,000 would get us on track. But receive that check right at this moment and we might blow it. God said, “No, not right now,” because we have maturing, growing, and building to do before He can trust us with the fulfillment of our prayers.

Another reason we do not receive what we pray for is God has a different direction for us. We may think that working for a major marketing firm is the best place to hone our marketing skills, but God may want us to start out with a grassroots organization. While marketing may be our talent, He may have placed a gift in us for helping others that we would not be able to utilize in that marketing company.

While it is important to pray and then activate your faith in what you pray for, it is just as important to believe that God will always create your best interest when orchestrating your life. You may not see the bigger picture but just continue riding with Him and He will show you. If you step out of gear for a moment you may slow down your progress in getting to your destiny. Be patient, grasshopper and have faith that He loves you, will not harm you, and is strengthening you for greater than you could ever desire.
