Jennifer Lopez is one of my favorite actresses right up there with Nia Long. Her singing may be questionable but she’s got acting chops for sure (The Wedding Planner is in my top five films, don’t judge me). I was super excited to hear that she was joining the wave of accomplished thespians hitting the small screen. On her new NBC series Shades of Blue, Jenny from the block will play a New York detective who gets mixed up in the wrong crowd.
In a steamy new drama, the iconic Jennifer Lopez stars as sexy New York detective and single mother Harlee Santos, who fell in with a tight-knit group of dirty cops, taking bribes and protection money that she uses to provide the best life for her honest, talented daughter. But when she’s trapped by the FBI and forced to inform on her own “brothers,” she’ll have to walk the fine line between love, loyalty, honor and betrayal, and try to keep it together for her daughter’s future. –NBC.com
With Oscar-winning Director and Executive Producer Barry Levinson (“The Humbling,” “Wag the Dog,” “Homicide: Life on the Street”) and a heavyweight cast including Ray Liotta (Goodfellas, Field of Dreams) and Drea Mattea (Sons of Anarchy, The Sopranos, Desperate Housewives), the one-hour drama is bound to be a hit. Ryan Seacrest as well as J-Lo also hold executive producer roles.
Shades of Blue will premiere in early 2016 but until then we’ve got some pics of the Fly Girl in action. Also check out the trailer below. Will YOU be watching this show? I know I will!
