Living a healthy life is no easy task. Every corner is flooded with Mc’Donalds, Burger King, and even the coveted Chick Fil A (don’t we all crave waffle fries on a Sunday?). But choosing to eat a balanced breakfast does not have to be difficult.
A lot of us choose to skip this early yet vital meal. Working a hectic schedule can make it hard to find time to sit and eat first thing in the morning when we are running late for work or have deadlines to meet. I have even been guilty of thinking that the longer I wait to eat, the less calories I take in; or better yet the longer I go without a meal, the longer my stomach remains flat (if only our abs of steel could stay that way past 8am). Now that I take fitness seriously I realize that was the worst routine to follow. We sleep for six plus hours. That is a long time to go without fueling our bodies with the energy that only the proper foods can provide. The toned, sculpted body that we all desire will not appear without proper nutrition backed up with strength training and cardio.
I like to work out in the morning to start my day off on a good note; plus it allows me to let off steam and rejuvenate. I have learned that in order for me to maximize my work out, I need fuel before I get started. Nothing too heavy, but just a light snack in the a.m. is key. Check out some nutritious, early morning options that we enjoy and let us know your favorite healthy breakfast meals.
