Mid-Week Inspiration: Ignoring Distractions

I’m going to be straight up with you all because I love my readers. I’ve been moving a million miles a minute since I’ve moved to the West Coast. The only time I’m really home is to rest my head at night. So I’ve been trying to find a way to update the site without cutting into my few hours of z’s. That is why these last two posts I have pulled from my personal blog, favoredchick.wordpress.com and just expounded upon them a tad.

Mid-Week Inspirations are important to me first off because I have gotten so much positive feedback from them and requests for more. Second because I know that in the middle of the week we have already been faced with so many attacks that push and pull us in different directions. We need a small reminder to stay on course.

This post comes from realization that the pursuit of acceptance is a dead-end path. When you have a goal outside of societal norms, people will not understand and will even try to persuade you to act differently. It’s not always out of “hate” but often out of love and caution. Don’t let anyone or anything keep you from pursuing. Even if you don’t have everything planned, if you know that you know that God called you to do it, please don’t hesitate to listen. The outcome is guaranteed to be success! Check out the post below and leave your comments:

“There are those people that will discourage you not because of envy, but because they care about you enough that they don’t want to see you fail.” -Necole Kane of Necolebitchie.com

This is my first time being awakened to this fact. I do not like discussing my plans because I do not want to make room for discouragement. I’ve let some in during the past by randomly talking about the things God had been telling me. Of course those closest to me express the most doubt and I realize now it’s because they care about me and want to protect me. But no one can protect me like my Father and when He says go, I’ll go. I know that His grace sustains me and will keep me from harm. So what’s there to worry about? I have the strongest security system known to man. I’ll be alright. I’m more concerned about what will happen if I don’t obey. What a tragedy that would be!

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. I Chronicles 4:10

I love this short and sweet prayer. It comes from a man whose name means pain. Obviously he was not one of the most “successful” men in the bible by our standards. But he knew how to be straight to the point with God. He didn’t ask for a lot of things or say the basic Lord’s Prayer. He simply requested that his association with pain would be removed. And his prayer was answered.

People may be telling you that you cannot accomplish what you have planned. But you have a God who is able. The insecurities you have, He can remove. The skills you lack, He can provide and instill in you. Do not let others get into your head by starting to think, “Well maybe I should not take this leap.” Do not get down when your family and friends doubt what God is telling you. He’s telling you, not them. Follow His lead and they will continue to support you if they really love you.

Be mindful of who you spread His plans for you to until you learn to guard your spirit and what you let into it. He will give you that nudge when you need to keep something to yourself. It’s okay. You’re not bottling it in. You’re being spoken to and you have to be sensitive with His instruction. Treat it with care because you are the one that has to follow through.
