Mid-Week Inspiration: Put it on the Altar Jessica Reedy

Spending too much time feeling down and dwelling in your misery?  Put it on the altar and leave it there!  In other words, when you pray, trust God for what you prayed for and STOP worrying about it!  What’s the point in praying if you’re going to continue to dwell on those issues?  God’s got more than enough power to take care of it.  All He asks of us is to trust and not doubt!

Phillipians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

When we learn to pray and actually trust God for what we pray for, God provides us with a peace that is overwhelming.  I know what you’re thinking, it’s easier said than done.  I am very guilty of asking God for something and then contemplating how it’s all going to work out.  But I believe that is why God sometimes takes longer than we expect.  He’s waiting for us to develop patience and endurance and rely fully on Him.

The next time you’re feeling sad or depressed about your situation…don’t dwell on your sorrows.  Make your requests known to God.  Turn on some upbeat, positive music and believe!  God already knows your every need.  He just wants you to come to Him and trust that He can deliver!  Control your thinking and He will take care of the rest!
