As soon as Grammy winning artist Clifford “T.I.” Harris stepped out of the slammer yesterday, he walked into a new business venture. T.I. has teamed up with VH1 in a new reality series following the top-selling rapper as he re-adjusts to life as a free man after serving 11 months in prison shortly after being released from a nearly one year sentence in 2009.
The half hour untitled 10-episode series will premiere December 5 at 10pm on VH1. Viewers will get an inside view of T.I. as he returns to fatherhood, his new role as a husband to songwriter and former member of 90’s Grammy winning group Xscape, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle Harris, and his career as a rapper and actor.
“Viewers have always connected with T.I. and we are definitely thrilled to show the next chapter of this incredible artist’s riveting life with this new series,” said Jeff Olde, EVP, Original Programming and Production VH1.
“T.I. is such a multi- talented artist and actor, and though he has had some setbacks, there is no doubt he will use his considerable talents to get back on top of both the music and film business.”
Let’s hope that T.I. stays on the straight and narrow, learns from his experiences, and stays on top from here out. I hope his story can be a warning to other young people that even the rich and famous have to pay their debt to society so imagine the price us regular folk pay when we mess up?
