According to U.K.’s Daily Mirror, a source says Kanye West will be recording a rendition of the late, great Amy Winehouse’s 2006 single, “Back to Black.”
The source said, “It’s pretty emotive. It’s Kanye singing from the heart — with synthesisers.”
Reportedly West will debut the song next month in London at the 160th anniversary celebration for menswear company, Moss Bros.
Earlier this month, West played Winehouse’s version of the record and her “Tears Dry on Their Own” at Britain’s Big Chill Festival. He told the crowd,
“I was at Paris fashion week a few years ago with my fiancée at that time before playing the tracks. We went to a house party and I met this beautiful, amazing, talented and funny woman. This is in memory of her.”
